Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Shannon and be greeted by your professional driver. Journey north towards Ballina Co. Mayo. En route you might make a stop for tea and scones in Ennis or you could lunch in Galway City. Arrive into the picturesque town of Ballina, founded in 1723. Check into the 4-star Mount Falcon Country House Hotel. Overnight: Mount Falcon Country House Hotel, Ballina. (B)

Day 2 - Relax as your driver introduces you to the beautiful, wild and wonderful Connemara region; a continuous panorama of harbors and seascapes, surrounded by the awesome Twelve Bens Mountains and dotted with glistening lakes and endless boglands. Tour Kylemore Abbey, the Monastic home to the Benedictine nuns, with its unique Gothic Chapel and newly restored Victorian Gardens. Overnight: Mount Falcon Country House Hotel, Ballina. (B)

Day 3 - After a hearty breakfast begin a tour of Yeats Country. Sligo Town has many connections to the poet and his family whose literary and artistic legacy has helped to inspire Sligo's thriving arts scene. Then on to Coxtown Manor, a century's old manor house in south Donegal situated on its own park like setting of rolling hills near the Atlantic Ocean. Overnight: Coxtown Manor, Donegal. (B)

Day 4 - The supreme appeal of Donegal lies in the natural beauty of its coast. Inishowen, the largest of Donegal's northern peninsulas, is an area laden with history. It can be easily explored as a leisurely day trip on your way to Moville, and the 4* Carlton Redcastle Hotel and Spa nestled along the banks of Lough Foyle. Overnight: Carlton Redcastle Hotel & Spa, Moville. (B)

Day 5 - Today travel to the Giants Causeway. Approaching the Causeway from the west you pass the eerie ruins of Dunluce Castle. The bizarre regularity of the basalt columns has made the Causeway the subject of numerous legends. Continue on to Belfast, the only city in Ireland to experience the full force of the Industrial Revolution with its shipbuilding, linen and rope making industries. Overnight: Europa Hotel, Belfast. (B)

Day 6 - After a drive through the city of Belfast, continue south perhaps to Downpatrick, and a visit to the burial place of St. Patrick and through the Boyne Valley, the cradle of Irish civilization. This fertile valley supported a sophisticated society in Neolithic times. Arrive in Dublin at the Davenport Hotel in gracious Merrion Square and bid your Driver good-bye. Overnight: Davenport Hotel, Dublin. (B)

Day 7 - All day to explore Dublin. Your personal travel planner will have plenty of suggestions for your visit in Dublin. Overnight: Davenport Hotel, Dublin. (B)

Day 8 - Return to Dublin airport for your flight back to the States. (B)
