Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Ireland to be greeted by your Irish driver. Travel to Limerick, the third largest city in the republic. Enjoy a short panoramic tour of Limerick. See King John's Castle and the Treaty Stone, while learning about the fascinating history of the "city of the violated treaty". Overnight: Absolute Hotel, Limerick (B)

Day 2 - After breakfast travel through the Burren region, an area filled with an amazing variety of flora and fauna, and on to the Cliffs of Moher. These majestic cliffs rise more than 700 feet above the windswept Atlantic Ocean. One of the best views can be enjoyed from O'Brien's Tower. On a clear day you can see as far as the Mountains of Kerry, Connemara, and the Aran Islands. Overnight: Absolute Hotel, Limerick (B)

Day 3 - Travel through Adare, one of Ireland's prettiest villages with thatched cottages and historical features. Continue to the town of Kenmare, a haven of tranquility, gourmet food, and breathtaking scenery in one of the most natural, unspoiled environments in Ireland. Cradled in the heart of Kenmare Bay, the picturesque town of Kenmare is a perfect location from which to discover the Southwest, linking the famed Ring of Kerry with the rugged Beara Peninsula. Overnight: Brooklane Hotel, Kenmare (B)

Day 4 - The Beara Peninsula is the wildest and most romantic of the peninsulas in the Southwest. It stretches for a distance of 30 miles from Glengarriff to Dursey Island and back to Kenmare. Maybe a visit to an island garden of rare beauty, Garnish Island will appeal to you. The gardens are landscaped with neo-classical follies and planted with sub tropical flora. Overnight: Brooklane Hotel, Kenmare (B)

Day 5 - Travel to Kilkenny, with a stop at the awe-inspiring medieval Rock of Cashel along the way. Kilkenny is undeniably Ireland's loveliest inland city. The Anglo-Norman Butler family came to power in the 1390's and held sway over the city for 500 years. Their legacy is visible in the city's historic buildings, most notably Kilkenny Castle, which is set in a commanding position overlooking the River Nore. Overnight: Kilkenny River Court, Kilkenny (B)

Day 6 - Today's journey takes you through Wicklow, known as "The Garden of Ireland", with a visit to Glendalough, a sixth century monastic settlement. The afternoon includes a stop at the magnificent Powerscourt Estate comprised of a Palladian House, Italian gardens, walled garden, ancient round tower, church ruins, and Celtic crosses. Continue into Dublin City and bid farewell to your driver. Overnight: Davenport Hotel, Dublin (B)

Day 7 - Explore the city of Dublin on your free day. Enjoy a double-decker bus tour, visit Guinness or Jameson's, meander through museum, or even take in a show. Answer the call of the fashionable shopping areas of Grafton Street, view the many elegant Georgian townhouses, and savor a succulent dinner at one of Dublin's many restaurants or pubs. Overnight: Davenport Hotel, Dublin (B)

Day 8 -Following a delicious Irish breakfast, take a taxi to Dublin Airport for last minute shopping before you board your flight to the States. (B)
