1 | | Arrive
either Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport and travel towards the Highlands along the
banks of Loch Lomond, Scotland's largest loch, to Fort William; which is noted
for its location at the foot of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain. Also in
the area is the Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous through its appearances in the
"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" movie. Overnight: Corriegour
Lodge Hotel, Fort Wiliam x 1 nights (B) |

2 | | Today
take Skye Bridge onto the Isle of Skye. Portree is a busy tourist resort and the
main town on Skye. It is built around a natural harbor and the town's brightly
painted houses rise steeply from the water's edge. Extending some twenty miles
north from Portree is the Trotternish peninsula, where the bizarre landscape is
the result of volcanic activity overlying soft sandstone bedrock. The coast is
marked by sheer cliffs; there are pinnacles and pillars strewn along its length.
Visit Talisker, the only distillery on the Isle of Skye. Overnight: Cuillin
Hills Hotel, Isle of Syke x 1 night (B) |

3 & 4 |
Return
over the Skye Bridge and drive along Loch Ness to Inverness. Points of interest
include: Inverness Castle (currently used as the court house), Inverness Museum
and Art Gallery, the Scottish Kiltmaker Visitor Centre, and the Loch Ness Centre.
Enjoy a leisurely cruise on Loch Ness and keep your cameras ready, should you
come across the ever elusive Loch Ness Monster.
Overnight: Tulloch Castle Hotel, Dingwall x 2 nights (B) |

5 & 6 | | Following
a hearty breakfast, head south to the historic city of Edinburgh. Along the way
you will find plenty of choices for exploration, including Blair Castle, a turreted
castle that has a 700 year old history; and Stirling Castle, historically one
of Scotland's most important fortresses is still protected by the original walls.
The present building dates from the 15th century; the Renaissance Palace, Chapel
Royal, and Great Hall are just some of the highlights within the castle. Continue
on to Edinburgh, an enchanting city which clings elegantly to its medieval past.
With plenty to do, from themed city tours to renowned festivals, traditional kilt-makers
to lively pubs, Edinburgh has something for everyone and is home to Scotland's
most popular visitor attraction, Edinburgh Castle. Overnight: Apex Waterloo
Place Hotel, Edinburgh x 2night (B) |
