Day 1
Arrive Dublin airport and meet your driver/ guide in the Arrivals Hall. Today’s journey takes you to the heart of Sligo, where you will overnight in an 18th century luxury Country House Hotel. Along the way, visit Trim Castle, which may look familiar if you have seen Braveheart. Overnight: Coopershill House Hotel, Riverstown, Sligo
Day 2
Following breakfast take a leisurely drive to Drumcliff to visit W.B. Yeats grave, resting at the foot of the imposing Benbulben. There are also the remains of a massive round tower and an impressive high cross. Continue on into the rugged Connamara, long regarded as the real emerald of Ireland. Arrive early evening at one of Connamara’s most gracious houses set on 50 acres of beautiful grounds on the coastline of Cashel Bay. Overnight: Cashel House Hotel, Cashel (B)
Day 3
Explore the grounds of Cashel House which was built in 1840 and has been lovingly restored to its present condition. This afternoon visit Clifden and enjoy the scenic views of the beautiful rugged coastline. It is one of Ireland’s most loved towns and of course is an outstanding jewel in Ireland’s scenic crown. Day 4
Enjoy a hearty full-Irish breakfast before heading to the limestone-rich region of the Burren, a unique botanical region in which Mediterranean and Alpine plants, rare to Ireland, grow side-by-side. The Burren Center offers exhibits that explain the geology, flora, and archaeology of the area. Day 5
If you didn’t see the Cliffs of Moher yesterday, make sure to go today! Travel through the heart of Shannon’s heritage sites, with possible stops including: Craggauowen, Knappogue Castle, or Limerick’s Lough Gur, one of Ireland’s most important archaeological sites. You will be captivated by the beauty, charm and tranquillity of this ancient place. Arrive at your hotel late afternoon and consider dining in their award winning restaurant. Day 6
Your journey today will take you to the nation’s capital city. Today is free to explore this fascinating city at your leisure. Wander the fashionable shopping areas around Grafton and Nassau Streets, view the many elegant Georgian townhouses, visit Trinity College, home of The Book of Kells, take the Hop-On Hop-Off bus for a tour of the city and to reach further spots like the Guinness Storehouse.
