Experience the Wild Atlantic Way in Luxury

The Wild Atlantic Way

Day 1 – Arrive Shannon airport (Dublin arrivals can be arranged) and meet your Irish driver/ guide in the Arrivals Hall. Travel to Galway City, said to be “the most Irish city in Ireland” and take in the charm of the city.  Nothing beats jet-lag better than being outdoors, and Galway is a wonderful walking city.  We like Galway Food Tours for their unique way of blending culture and culinary for a great insight to the city. Overnight: Glenlo Abbey, Galway City

Day 2 – Today visit Connemara one of the most scenic regions in Ireland. It’s craggy mountain peaks, expansive sandy beaches and laced network of lakes exemplify the peaceful solitude and rugged beauty of The West of Ireland. Continue on  to Westport the essence of Ireland’s magical west. Nestling safely at the foot of towering Croagh Patrick, overlooking Clew Bay and its enchanting islands, the town weaves its spell around everyone it meets.  Then, return to Galway and perhaps take in an evening of traditional music.  Overnight: Glenlo Abbey Hotel, Galway City

Day 3 – This morning after breakfast you will depart “The City of Tribes” and travel south through some of Ireland’s most interesting landscape. Journey through the limestone-rich region of the Burren, a unique botanical limestone region in which Mediterranean and Alpine plants rare to Ireland grow side by side. The highlight of the day will likely be the iconic Cliffs of Moher as you marvel at the giant sea wall, ask your driver to drop you off a bit ahead of the Visitor Center for a unique approach to this stunning natural setting.  Then continue on to the charming city of Killarney for your next stop. Overnight: The Great Southern, Killarney

Day 4 – The centerpiece of County Kerry is Killarney, a small easily walkable town surrounded by Killarney National Park, a 25-square-mile expanse of unspoiled and unpolluted scenery — three beautiful lakes, mountains, woodlands, waterfalls, flora, and fauna. Today may be the day to rent a bike or try your hand at kayaking one of the legendary lakes. Overnight: Great Southern Hotel, Killarney

Day -5 No visit to the Southwest of Ireland is complete without a peninsula drive, and our favorite is the trip along The Dingle Peninsula.  Glimpse the nearby Skellig Michael – Star Was fans are sure to recognize this gem, in fact several movies were filmed in this area, clearly film makers agree it is a beautiful place.  After a day enjoying the natural beauty, arrive at the stunning Dromoland Castle and indulge in some more worldly beauty! Overnight: Dromoland Castle Hotel, Newmarket on Fergus

Day 6 – We’ve set aside your last full day in Ireland to enjoy the Castle grounds and facilities.  There are many options to occupy your time, from spa treatments, to falconry demonstrations, to indulgent high tea.

Overnight:Dromoland Castle,  Newmarket on Fergus

Day 7 – With your Ireland vacation coming to a close, you’ll find a short drive to the hassle free Shannon airport for your flight home.  If you’re departing from Dublin, arrangements can be made, including an additional night at Dublin airport for your convenience – just ask for details and pricing.
